{"id":351,"date":"2019-01-24T13:56:08","date_gmt":"2019-01-24T18:56:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/5wp.qdlonline.com\/?page_id=351"},"modified":"2019-01-28T11:51:49","modified_gmt":"2019-01-28T16:51:49","slug":"adult-program-options","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/qdlonline.com\/?page_id=351","title":{"rendered":"Adult Program Options"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>School District #28 offers tuition free, online courses for adults looking to upgrade their education.<\/p>\n<p>The adult courses are offered online.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The online course offerings allow <strong>flexibility<\/strong> for adults to work <strong>at a pace<\/strong> that suits them.<\/li>\n<li>The online options make it possible to fit their studies around <strong>work and\/or family<\/strong> responsibilities.<\/li>\n<li>Adult students will need access to a <strong>computer<\/strong> and the <strong>Internet<\/strong> to be able to access the courses.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Test taking<\/strong>\u00a0is the only face-to-face requirement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">To write the tests adult students set an appointment with their teacher or coordinator and we provide a testing space at <strong>Helen Dixon Center.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>(If you are living outside of Quesnel please contact your teacher for other testing options.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Helen Dixon Centre, 241 Kinchant St, Quesnel, BC V2J 2R3<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YLGsMpXHoLg\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">________________________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Two Adult\u00a0Options<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">There are two pathways for adults looking to upgrade their education<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">1)\u00a0 Adult Dogwood<\/h2>\n<h4><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/adult-education\/graduate-high-school\/bc-adult-graduation-diploma-program\">Adult Dogwood<\/a> is a program for adults who have not yet graduated.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>You need to complete 5 courses for the Adult Dogwood.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Language Arts 12<\/li>\n<li>Mathematics 11\n<ul>\n<li><em>Accounting 11 is also an option.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Three other grade 12 ministry authorized courses.\n<ul>\n<li><em>You could also complete Social Studies 11 and 2 other Grade 12 courses.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><strong>Other Information about the Adult Dogwood?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>You need to be <strong>18 years or older<\/strong> to apply to the program.<\/li>\n<li>Completed courses from time spent at your previous school <strong>may<\/strong> count towards the adult dogwood, but you need to <strong>complete 3 courses\u00a0after you turn 18<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The official name of the adult credential is the <strong>British Columbia Adult Graduation Diploma<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Adults may choose to complete the regular Dogwood Diploma.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>2) Graduated Adult Upgrading<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For adult students who have already graduated, but are looking to <strong>upgrade their marks<\/strong>, or take <strong>particular courses<\/strong> to enroll in other post secondary education or training School District #28 also offers tuition free courses.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/adult-education\/adult-upgrading\/already-graduated\">These courses<\/a> are available to all adults tuition free as part of the ministry of education upgrading program.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">QDL offers some but not all of the courses on the list.\u00a0 Please contact us for more information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">_______________________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">FAQ&#8217;s<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; School District #28 offers tuition free, online courses for adults looking to upgrade their education.
